01Do I have to start the trial right away?
No. You can use the Free tier as long as you want — and start the 14-day Pro trial whenever a trip comes up that would benefit from Pro features. The trial activates from Settings any time. We'd rather you get value from it than have it run out while you're not paying attention.
02What happens after the 14-day trial?
You drop back to the Free tier — automatically. No card on file, so nothing gets charged. You keep your trips, your timeline, your documents, and the basics. The Pro features (Watchlist, lounge engine, live status, redemption ledger) just turn off until you choose to subscribe.
03Why does the Watchlist need a Seats.aero subscription?
Itira's Watchlist runs on Seats.aero, an independent service that aggregates award space across loyalty programs. To use the Watchlist on Itira Pro, you also need an active Seats.aero subscription and your own API key — which you paste into Settings → Seats.aero. We don't resell their data; we connect your existing subscription to your trip planning. Everything else in Pro works without it.
04What if I'm planning more than 3 trips on Free?
You can keep all the trips you've created — they don't get deleted. But to keep more than 3 active at once, you'd need Pro. Past trips can be archived to make room without losing them. Most casual planners are fine on Free; active points-and-miles travelers tend to need Pro.
05Can I cancel any time?
Yes. Cancel from Settings, App Store, or your browser — same place you started. No retention loops, no hidden fees. If you cancel mid-cycle, you keep Pro features until the period you paid for ends.
06How does Family & Friends linking work?
You're the Pro account holder. From Settings, you invite up to 5 family members or friends by email. Each invitee creates their own free Itira account; once they accept the invitation, they get full Pro features on the trips you share with them. They don't pay anything; you remain the owner; you can unlink at any time.
07Why such a steep annual discount?
Annual is $59. Monthly is $6.99 — which works out to about $84 a year. So annual saves you nearly 30% over the course of a year. The discount exists because annual is cheaper for us to operate (no card fees every month, less churn) and we'd rather you pay once and use the product than wonder whether to renew every 30 days.
08Is my booking data private?
Yes. Itira parses your forwarded emails to extract reservation data; we don't sell it, don't share it with third parties, don't use it to target you with ads. Trip Mode lets you hide points and financial details from your screen when others are looking. We follow standard data-protection practices and you can delete your account with one tap, which wipes your data from our servers.
09What about lifetime Pro?
Lifetime Pro isn't generally offered, though we may run occasional promotions. Annual subscriptions are the most cost-effective ongoing option.
10Do I need to be a "points and miles" person to get value?
No, but the deepest features lean that way. The Free tier gives you a beautiful trip planner with email parsing, document storage, sharing, and the editorial timeline — which is plenty for casual planners. Pro is where things get interesting if you watch award space, track redemptions, or care about lounge access.
